"Aren't you supposed to be a paladin?"

"Huh." -Morgnan and Alryn

Folk: Half-Elf, Vampire

Class: Paladin

Affiliation: Crimson Crows, House August

Originaly a paladin of Bahamut, Alryn was turned into a vampire by Lord Alek of House August, and later came to near godlike power by journeying to Shadowfell and claiming the title of Dark Lord.

Born as the son of bandits, Alryn was abused until eventually at the age of 12, he got his chance to kill both parents during a raid. The citizens of the town his parents had been raiding treated Alryn as a hero, leading to his obsession with justice at all costs. With nowhere else to go, he joined a temple of Bahamut, becoming a paladin.

As an adult, Alryn joined a group of adventurers, including R'Dajee Marr, Morgnan, and Mogogol Who Slayed the Dragon. Though Alryn's skills proved useful to the group, his abrasive personality led to frequent conflicts with the others.

After being turned into a vampire, Alryn lost all hope in Bahamut and his moral beliefs, beginning a life of violence that brought him to the edge of godhood, but ultumately to his own destruction. His chosen champion, the Blackguard paladin Arannis, betrayed him and, through their champion lifelink, destroyed Alryn. Though Alryn was destroyed in the Arena of Stars, he was the only one there to escaped the wrath of Selesnya.
